We all have different ways of learning
"When I was young and learning to play piano, I found that my understanding of chords came to me visually, so I taught myself how to play based on colors, patterns, and memory rather than on traditional music theory. I trusted my instincts and emotions to guide me, which has shaped my identity as a pianist and teacher to this day.

When I work with a student, we start playing right away, improvising songs with the games and patterns I teach them. It's a great way to break the mental barrier that sometimes holds students back from playing and having fun.

The inspiration for Roy's Piano Tunes came to me from my many years as a piano teacher and from my memories of when I was young and learning how to play. I wanted to create songs that were exciting to play, sounded sophisticated, but yet were composed of patterns and movements anyone could play. I hope you enjoy playing these tunes as much as I enjoyed bringing them to life."
